HELLO I'M ERIC CORPUZ|WELCOME TO MY PERSONAL BLOG|LIVE YOUR DREAM|SHARE YOUR PASSION

It would probably be Squires.

Needless to say, I haven't written here in awhile. Sorry for that.

The past week has been stressful, eventful, but still nothing short of great.

Between crazy weather, school work, cramming for tests, and interviews on top of interviews, there wasn't much social time whatsoever. The only day I really had free (which should've been spent studying) was Monday, that of which I spent my free time swimming and shooting around with Addison (not smart). This past week things really, really started to pick up though. Tests were starting and school work was getting more intense. The speed of this semester is just so ridiculous, but I like it. At first I really hated that I stayed for spring, but now I think it's one of the best decisions I've made thus far.

On Wednesday Addison, got his mission call but I thought I would play a little prank on him to alleviate some stress haha. It was pretty stupid but I thought it was funny. So when a person gets their mission call at Helaman, they call them from the front desk and tell them that it has arrived. (Although exactly one month before when I got my call, they did not so much as to bother to call me.) So I kept tabs of the mail that day which usually comes in around 3:30pm, and I checked for awhile but there was no sign of Addison's call coming in. So I told Addison about my planned prank to go over there and make the phone call only to tell him his call didn't arrive even though he had been expecting it (once 330pm hit he was just staring it his phone waiting for the call telling him it had arrived). Not much later I called back and sure enough his call was there so I decided to pull the prank anyway even though I told him... but that just made it that much better haha. You'll have to ask him for the rest of the details of the story because I'm doing a horrible job of trying to explain it.

That night was pretty lame, but we did get our home teaching done!

Thursday was my busiest day. It looked a little something like this:

8am - Basketball
9am - Breakfast
10am - CCC Appointment
11am - Bio Lab
12pm - Lunch w/Lyndsey
1pm - NT Class
2pm - Weight Training
3pm - Shower
4pm to 630pm - Psych
645 to 745pm - Bio Test
8pm - Temple Rec Interview

Granted, it wasn't nearly as stressful as some of the days I had in high school but it was for sure busy. That night Lyndsey and I were able to hit up some sushi at Sakura and pounded it down until we physically couldn't take in anymore. The couple next to us was kind of talking about some strange things but that just made the night even better. After, she taught me how to drive stick shift in her car and did a great job. By the end of the night I was driving the street's like a [beginner] pro haha. It took a bit, but once I got the hang of it, it turned out to be really easy. Afterwards Addison and I continued our argument over the fact that Emma Watson is not cute, said bye for the weekend, and then went to bed.

This weekend I was able to go home to go through the temple and attend Josh's farewell. I left with Spencer early on Friday to make it in time for his wisdom-teeth-surgery (technical stick with me here) and we got to Vegas around noon. It was so nice to be home. I just relaxed the whole afternoon then went out to dinner and went shopping with my family. Later on that night I got to spend some time with, of course, my favorite cousin Farah and some of our old high school friends at Kyle's birthday party at the Venetian Hotel & Casino.

It was a pretty great night until we got kicked out for being so loud; I could've told you that was going to happen though. Kyle was a really, really good friend of mine freshman year in high school and we seemed to lose contact over the years but I still care about her just as much.

Saturday was a special day: I got to go through the temple. I'd been anticipating this for a really long time and I was really nervous, but excited. Even though I was really overwhelmed with everything that went on and kind of shaken, the more I look back on it, the more I realize how much it made sense and how special it really was. I'd say the best part was being able to go through with the Squires family and having the Thomas family, Bishop Dixon, and Josh there to support me. It's really true, I wouldn't be much of anywhere without the Squires family these days. I wouldn't be here at BYU, I wouldn't be a member of the church, I wouldn't be  doing as well as I am in school, and I definitely wouldn't be as happy as I have been. They do so much and have been such a great blessing in my life. The whole day, Sister Squires referred to me as her "other son" as she introduced me to familiar people and it really made me feel so happy to be thought of as family to her. She's helped me with everything from mission papers to hemming my pants. I couldn't ask for much more. If I ever had another last name, it would probably be Squires.

If you'd like Sister Squires take on the day, here's your chance.

Later on that day, I went to mass with my family since Jason was playing piano for the 5 o'clock, and then we went out to Makino's for dinner and, of course, shopping after. I was even able to spend some time with my two big sisters, Nena and Theresa, that night and able to catch them up on my life a bit while people watching; definitely some weird people in Vegas at night for sure. It was good fun and it meant a lot to me to see how accepting they've been of the life I've chosen nowadays. I love them and miss them so much.

Today was Josh's farewell. It was probably one of the best I was able to go to. Josh has been such a great example, brother, and friend to me this past year and has helped me through so much. Him and Elina have been the most dependable friends I've had here in college and, well, Elina beforehand too. I know that I will always be able to count on them through everything thick and thin - whether it be problems or just coming to support me at my band concerts when my family can't. Josh gave a great talk today and I'm really going to miss him. I hope for the best for him in the future. I'm not too worried though, if anyone can handle the mission, it's Josh for sure.
Spencer and I left right after and got back around ten tonight. We recorded this video of our only commonly liked song that was on his iPod. It's always a good time with Spencer; we definitely bring out a different, quirky side in each other, but that's a good thing. Addison got back tonight too around midnight. He went home to open his call and is going to the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission! I'm way excited for him and jealous that he's learning Spanish! He'll be great. Speaking of missionaries, I don't think I ever posted this picture from Mike and my last conversation. He entered the MTC a couple weeks ago now so he's well on his way but here's from our last skype. I miss him much but I know he's doing well!

Anyway, it's late now and I have so much more to do still before I hit the hay.
